Verdict
Who should buy it
Consider Halliday G2 for meeting-oriented text and audio controls; the evidence supports official specifications and a short hands-on rather than long-term reliability claims.
Specifications
The exact configuration matters
The $599 displayed price and dispatch estimate do not establish the final prescription price or arrival date.
| Area | Finding |
|---|---|
| Price and total cost | The Black nonprescription model displayed $599; checkout promotions are separate. |
| Display | The binocular green display has 600 × 300 resolution. |
| Battery | The maker rates regular use at 12 hours. |
| Input and audio | Speakers, four microphones and a touch bar provide input and audio. |
| Protection | The glasses carry an IP54 rating. |
| Ordering and compatibility | Dispatch is estimated at three business days for the standard model; prescription orders are estimated at four to six weeks. |
What changed
From Original Halliday glasses (exact predecessor model designation unverified) to Halliday G2
The table separates supported changes from specifications whose predecessor baseline is unknown. Unknown does not mean unchanged, and current-model findings do not establish a generational improvement.
| Area | Original Halliday glasses (exact predecessor model designation unverified) | Halliday G2 | Net change or carry-over | Buyer impact |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Display | The exact predecessor specification is unverified here. | G2 specifies a binocular green 600 × 300 display. | The net change and any carry-over are unverified; the current specification alone does not establish an upgrade. | The G2 display specification does not prove better visibility or comfort than the original glasses. |
| Runtime and controls | The exact predecessor specification is unverified here. | G2 specifies 12 hours of regular use, four microphones, speakers and a touch bar. | The net change and any carry-over are unverified; the current specification alone does not establish an upgrade. | Assess these current capabilities against the job; the short hands-on does not establish a generational reliability improvement. |
Alternatives
Choose among different strengths
Match the job before comparing specifications. ENGO 3 is a sports heads-up display, not an AI-assistant substitute; no camera does not mean no microphone or cloud processing.
| Choice | Best fit | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| [Even Realities G2 + R1](https://fieldguides.co/g/even-realities-g2-r1) | Choose Even G2 for discreet binocular text and an optional ring controller; software consistency and prescription return limits matter more than the headline display specification. | R1 is an optional control accessory, not a second glasses choice or a verified part of the $599 price. |
| [MemoMind One](https://fieldguides.co/g/memomind-one) | Choose MemoMind One for binocular text plus speakers at a lower observed price than Even G2; phone dependence and variable AI results remain compromises. | A prescription order cannot be cancelled once production starts. |
| [Halliday G2](https://fieldguides.co/g/halliday-g2) | Consider Halliday G2 for meeting-oriented text and audio controls; the evidence supports official specifications and a short hands-on rather than long-term reliability claims. | The $599 displayed price and dispatch estimate do not establish the final prescription price or arrival date. |
| [RayNeo iO](https://fieldguides.co/g/rayneo-io) | Consider RayNeo iO for lightweight captions and translation; an owner’s positive account is useful context, but independent tested-review coverage is limited. | Subscription requirements vary, and the exact shipping date and prescription total are unresolved. |
| [ENGO 3](https://fieldguides.co/g/engo-3) | Choose ENGO 3 to see workout metrics while moving; it is a sports heads-up display rather than a general AI assistant. | Exact watch compatibility matters, especially where Apple Watch support is partial. |
Review evidence
What reviewers and owners actually found
Independent coverage is limited: 1 professional review or hands-on source and 0 fully read owner accounts support this exact model. Missing long-term evidence remains a buying uncertainty.
| Source | Evidence | Finding |
|---|---|---|
| tomsguide.com | Short hands-on | A July 2026 short hands-on emphasized meeting-oriented microphones and the absence of a camera. It was not a long-term test of a shipping unit. |
Limits
What could change the decision
- The $599 displayed price and dispatch estimate do not establish the final prescription price or arrival date.
- No exact Amazon ASIN was verified for the selected configurations, so there are no Amazon purchase buttons.
- Manufacturer battery claims, review tests and owner anecdotes use different conditions and should not be ranked as equivalent measurements.
- Camera-free glasses can still use microphones and online services. Exact platform, subscription and data-processing terms are not fully verified here. Prescription fit and return restrictions can change the cost of a trial.
