This pre-release primer is for viewers catching up before The Mandalorian and Grogu. You do not need to watch every modern Star Wars series: Din Djarin is Grogu's adoptive father and Mandalorian mentor, Mandalore has been reclaimed after years of ruin and factional conflict, and the pair are positioned to work alongside but outside official New Republic channels against Imperial remnants. Watch The Mandalorian Seasons 1-2 for the bond, The Book of Boba Fett episodes 5-7 for the reunion, and either The Mandalorian Season 3 or StarWars.com's Season 3 recap for the current status quo.
Start with cockpit games if Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the hook: Gran Turismo 7, No Man's Sky, Ultrawings 2, RUNNER, and Galaxy Kart are the closest fits. For long seated sessions, Moss, Demeo, Puzzling Places, Tetris Effect: Connected, Lumines Arise, Rez Infinite, Thumper, Before Your Eyes, Switchback VR, and The 7th Guest VR are stronger than many bigger active games. Treat PlayStation Store's Sitting label as the entry requirement, then filter for arm reach, motion, controller mode, and whether the game was actually designed around a stationary body.
For All Mankind is easiest to follow as a sequence of decade jumps: Soviet Moon victory, permanent lunar bases, militarized Jamestown, a 1990s Mars race, the Goldilocks asteroid economy, and an ongoing 2012 Mars-colony season. This guide separates official season framing from community-compiled day-level chronology.
